Ok, ive done all the training....and thought i was doing well until i faced Broly....

Now teleporting to avoid attack.....

From the training it seems as though you have to watch to see how you are being attacked and press left + circle, or right +circle accourdingly.....

Thats all very well and good for the training when they only use one attack at once, but how is that supposed to help you in the real game when they launch lightning fast rush attacks at you.

Im sorry, but human reflexes arernt that *****ing good.....

i dont care you you are...NO ONE has a chance of seeing the attack, and pressing the right combination of buttons to defend......

Now i dont want people telling me, oh its all about practice, because thats BS....no ammount of practice can make a persons reaction time THAT good...

It just seems like im missing something here....and all my teleports seem to be flukes.....

Help?

There may be an easier way to teleport. Have you tried asking someone if there is an easier way to teleport ? Maybe there is a shortcut to teleporting, just like there was to transforming and doing dragon fist in Budokai 3. There is always an easier way of doing something . Either that or you are going to have to work on your reaction time. 8)

There is no easier way. I just tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap and hope that something works. But, if you have a character with Instant Transmition, it does help. Then there's the After image-type moves that will automatically teleport.

I was playing ealier today with Gogeta and for some reason I was able to teleport 90% of the time. I don't know why. But for the most part I choose to use the dodge rather than teleport. It's a little easier and you don't have to time it.

But for the most part if I stop wailing on the COM they usually catch me in a really long sequence and I lose about two bars of life at a time.

 dodging at that hard lol , i do it kinda easy i think you just gotta work @ it and get used tot ha game system ^_^ - um.. an easy way to do this is to hold down circle to block then tap circle to dodge or tap circle & tha direction you wanna go. ^_^ - that's the easy way and it should work 80% of the time... the way they they show yoou to do it is hard but works well... especially if you play on 3. - gl, hope it works for ya

Instead of dodging and teleporting I usually block melee attacks. It's easier for me... if it's a long distance finisher I can dodge with ease unless it's like an energy volley thing. Some parts of this game are VERY hard to get around.

Actually, since starting this thread im kinda getting used to it now....

It seems the secret is to only try and teleport the first attack, and give up for the rest and just block.

Its good to kinda memorise what certain characters first moves in their rushes are, so you can press the right combination.

Its also good to use the after image technique....except i could be wrong, but was that move never used in DBZ?

Well I don't know much about Afterimage... I guess it's just something they made for the game. Anyway, yeah teleporting IS getting a little bit easier. Even though 60% of the time I still get wailed in the face.

Filling the gaps in my memories with wild delusions

I was going thru the game a second time on lvl3 and a lot of the characters are just relentless. The main thing that I'm having a problem with is that if I block I want to block. And you can't.

First off, it's hard to judge where the strike is gonna hit because the attacks have different animations. So, unless you play with or against a certain character a lot, it's almost impossible. And the triangle sweep and launch attacks are misleading. They can be blocked but are incredibly misinterpretable. And being penalized for not blocking in the right direction by having your ki gauge depleted and then having to tap circle to undizzy just to have them use a dizzying move on me is just lunacy.

Then, there's ki attacks. Multi tap basic kis don't do that much damage but I find myself not timing it right and eating a bunch of them and then the opponent is right in my face after with a barrage of strikes, but if I try it my character won't budge.

When I play I want to fight, not cheap my way through (like the COM most of the time). I want a fighting match, I don't want to use the same attack twenty times straight just because I know it's gonna work and give me the win.

I don't know, maybe I'm just frustrated for have to take two hour to defeat Meta-Cooler with a 103lvl Goku and Vegeta. But again, if I want to block, I want to block. And it just burns the hfil outta me that I have to fight a powered up opponent that can almost block every attack at will and has perfect access to every combo.

On the other side of it is that some characters teleport easier than others. My SSJ4 character do it four times as much as their lower level counter parts.

This may seem a little long winded but it's just incredibly fructrated to get beat so bad over and over and over and over and over and over again. I got soo angry I almost evicted my Playstation thru the window.

Yeah that happens quite a bit to me too. Except instead of the PS2 I throw the controller onto the ground lolz. My technique is punch them, teleport behind, keep punching them then do flying kick if you have it, then kick them in the air and do the air combo. Works quite a bit...

Well dude the afterimage technique was used loads in the original DB series, with Kid Goku, but i cant remember it ever being used in Z.

And Anonymous, i know exactly what you mean. It took me hours to beat the androids on it.....and it is really really annoying when they lay into and yet no matter how long you hold down circle your character STILL WONT BLOCK.

I know its really lame advice, but its all i can offer you....just play it more on the harder difficulties. Eventually it does kinda sink in. You may not get your teleporting, or blocking technique down, but you get something that'll work for you.

I mean....im doing lots more sidestepping now. If they charge at you, just sidestep it and they leave their backs exposed to attack. Just try all sorts of things.
